Books I'm Loving

Hey everyone! It's been a quick minute since I've posted anything but life has been super crazy (good crazy) lately! So hey! I missed y'all.

Anyways!

I love reading and I thought it would be cool to share with you some recent books I've read that I'm loving because I always love finding books to add to my own reading list! I've read these books in the last few months and they're all books I couldn't put down once I started! I hope you enjoy!

1.

The Magnolia Story - Chip & Joanna Gaines It's possible that I'm slightly overly-obsessed with the Gaines family and everything involving Waco, Texas. Beyond all the shiplap, subway tile and magnolia trees, there is an incredible story that will literally result in you living vicariously through this couple. The way God is intrinsically moving in every season of their lives is absolutely beautiful - you'll be in awe throughout the entire book.

2.

I Said Yes - Emily Maynard Bachelor fan? Bachelorette fan? No? It's all good! This amazing woman was on both reality TV shows, but don’t let that turn you off from hearing her story! I love this book because she reminded me of myself. Sometimes we hold back on opportunities because we're not 100% certain it's from God, and other times we say yes to things, thinking they're our calling when in reality we've been consumed by our own desires. Emily's story is genuine and incredibly touching and I just love Emily! She has such a heart for God and it's a beautiful thing!

#GIRLBOSS - Sophia Amoruso This book is for the entrepreneurs out there, holla! Does "Nasty Gal" get your attention? Sophia is the CEO and creator of the online store everyone loves, Nasty Gal. Personally, Nasty Gal is out of my price range and style, but that doesn’t mean the girl isn’t spot on with her passion and energy. Sophia's humor is absolutely enticing. "A girlboss knows when to throw punches and when to roll with them." This book is great if you want to be an entrepreneur, but it’s also great if you’re just trying to live life. Sophia says it how it is. She worked so incredibly hard to get to where she is now and that’s a message all of us need to hear. Even if you don't know what a "girlboss" is, you'll want to be one. Nothing will happen if you just sit in that chair and read my blog ;) So, get to work...but start by reading this book! As Sophia says, "Life is short. Don't be lazy.

The Shack - William P. Young I was semi-cautious going into reading this book, particularly because of the way God is portrayed. With that said, I read this book in 2 days. I could not put it down! This book helped me to take God out of the box that I had Him in (you know the box that Natalie Grant talks about in her song "King of the World") On this side of heaven, us mere humans are incapable of comprehending the absolute greatness of God, but this book put God into a whole new light for me. I wanted to underline and highlight every sentence of this book.

5.

Falling Free - Shannan Martin This book entered my life at just the right time. I've been praying for a passion to love others and to live in community with others, that I may tell people about the love of Jesus. This book is extremely encouraging in this. Shannan's story is nothing short of amazing. Her family's love and passion for the Kingdom is radiant in every decision they've made along their journey. If you want to read something that will sweetly and radically convict you as to exactly how far you're willing to go for God, this is for you my friend. I'll be reading this yearly, that's for sure!

That's all for now! Please let me know if you read them (I'd love to discuss these books with you!!) or if you have others to share with me!

Blessings,
